Straight Talkin Mike's Transcription of the Recap of Tonight's News
(Listen to the recording for all of the detailed analysis of the articles discussed after each news article listed - the following is just Straight Talkin Mikes recap of the news discussed)
RECAP
CBI....we discussed the article about the foreign currency and the smuggling...also talked about the exchange rates inside the country
the last few days somebody has been messing with the exchange rates in the country driving them up...Who is in trouble inside the country? Maliki seems to be in trouble....whenever he is in trouble he always seems to attack the Central Bank - he thinks he can take control of the Central Bank - that he can have control of the people and the money and maybe thats what he thinks he needs to complete his whole dictatorship
Yeah that's what you kinda want if you want to be a dictator..you want to have it all
As we have talked they are independent - we've talked about the Finance Committee starting to understand and coming out and saying look we are the ones who are supposed to help get the laws ready and you are the the guys who do the monetary policy - you need to let us know whats going and we can try to help you - we are not trying to take you over- that was Maliki and we are here to be here -
The Central Bank came out with a quick note saying we are stable and we can stabilize anything we need to in the economy with $60 billion dollars in reserves...we are fine...we are okay - and it was such a low exchange rate... yes they are fine..they are okay - because the true hard reserves it really takes to stablize that currency is not huge dollars for them in the long run - They are still having problems with their auctions and that really needs to be settled down - lots of that has to do with the banking laws that need to be enacted to let the banks have a little more leeway than what they have so they can become the place where the money exchangors go to - I think what they really need to do eventually is knock out the money exchangors on the streets and let the banks take over that position - noone wants to tell that to the money exchangors just yet...but eventually thats what is going to happen because thats the only way they are going to be able to get control of that situation so rules will change - people will be disgruntled with that out on the street - you will read articles about that
its all for the good of their economy - you are almost going from almost a true barter type system to the currency they have which is worth nothing and they barter the currency for the things they need -and they barter it for hard currency to get the things they need as we have taked before they need to maintain a currency - one currency - the dinar and get the rest of the currencies out of there especially the American dollar but everybody wants to hang on to that because they know what they are going to get for it -
The CBI is moving ahead...they have their plan and they are working it
On the Government side....few days of everybody bantering ....lots of meetings taking place...lots of people signing deals...Maliki saying he may agree to the Initiative brought up with the 8 points - he may be forced into that..we read that Barzani and a letter from Washington saying its okay for them to do what they want to do
if they want to go ahead and do a vote of No Confidence thats coming out
Sadr seems to want to give a few more days to this whole crisis - thats probably just a line up with their ducks to make sure they have them all - something they want to do to make sure they have their votes and everything is going in that direction
Everybody looking to see who might be that replacement - you have people vying for that so we are keeping in eye on all that to see whats what - and see where it goes from there - everybody is going to get their ducks in a row - We shall probably see a Vote of No Confidence if he doesn't capitulate here very shortly within the next couple of days
My favorite article was the article about Malikis son...inquiring minds want to know - talking about his son being spoiled and out of the country very similar to the article we read about Barzanis son the other night and his gambling debts
Absolutely everything we want to see is going on
we see more meetings going on...we will hear about more meetings in the next couple of days
Caution be careful about all of the articles coming out...like the article that came out about 3 months......then there was others all day long - remember whats going to happen...Malikis side will have have his spin and the others will have their spin....somewhere in the middle we will try to figure out whats going on over there...and of course any type of vote of No-Confidence or removal or agreements will be in the news....we will see it and hear about it - be careful each side will come out and say they have agreed to something when they may not have agreed to it....usually washes itself out within a 24-48 hr cycle - Thats kinda what we are in the middle of - Its all positive - watching and waiting to move forward - everybody is jockeying for their position - wanting to do what they need to do - getting the news out there that they want to
It certainly looks like this is a well formed plan by Sadr, Allawi and Barzani - I would say that Talabani knows whats going on
he's just waiting to be neutral so that Maliki can't figure it out - they are probably figuring out who needs to be the head..the National Alliance needs to keep that seat - probably wants to keep that Prime Minister - everybody wants to be seated in the seats that are there- they don't want to come out and put somebody else in as PM - do not want to really upset the apple cart....they would like to make the plan look exactly as the plan was where the parties have whatever they have because if a different party comes into that Prime Minister seat then the shares of power have to be divided differently so you would rather give someone in that party that seat so that everything goes nicely - but constitutionally they are working all of that out - Moving forward - AND ITS ALL GOOD.....
And there you have it...
