How to Check Out Currency Dealers &
How to Check Validity of your Currency

The Link below is the Search page for all Money Services Businesses (which is the classification for currency exchangers) You can enter the name of the company, state, etc - you do not need to know all of this information but you do need to know the Legal name of the Dealer that they are licensed under.  If the name you type in does not come in, call them and ask them what name there license is listed as.

Texas:

There are more States so always check in your State.
The issue to keep in mind is that State laws change and requirements change.

You should also check out their Business Registration in the State they are headquartered, the Better Business Bureau Nationwide & Local.

In addition, perform background searches on the owners, principals.   You can use the Link on our site Public Record Sites - Background Checks - (some are free) - some cost.  There are many other sites that do Background Searches on line.
