Recap:
Interesting George & Jeb Bush showed up at the White House this week....found this very interesting -coincidence....maybe - noone would have none had their not been a photo opp of this meeting.. I about fell out of my seat when I saw that article.
Interesting over the weekend with some of the major players were at the White House ...then Phone call made from White House to Baghdad on Sat and things are all of a sudden moving together
Someone who possibly has knowledge of the plans that are supposed to happen and how they are supposed to go possibly giving a current President some information or advice or they could have just had a meeting and exchanged coffee and tea.....lol....coincidence not fact but since then lots of things happening...
On the Banking side
CBI came out and said they have lots of reserves they have basically have gone thru a quick little test run of raising their rate and very happy with the results
Parliament seems to be calling and supporting them
The Maliki Economic Advisor seems to have a problem with them and the CBI seems to say although he has a problem with us the govt has kinda given us the okay to do this and they so they are okay with it.
What we have been saying for along time it seems CBI is sitting there ready to go forward ===ready to do what they want to do and just sitting and waiting for the things to go forward with the govt.
On the Political side...
What happened in the last 2 days?...Meeting at the White House...President Talabani returns...we now have the formation all of the govt in Iraq which gives them more power..all 3 of those factions together
We have a call to seat the ministers from the UN as well as people in Baghdad
Parties going back to parliament and getting the govt back up and running to get things done
And Biden making a phone giving some assurances to the parties that have boycotted that we will support whatever they decide to do in the formation of a new govt if necessary but get your stuff in gear and move forward
Talking about the Draft Budget..important to whats going on
Lots going on there...
There is lots of Scuttlebut about anyone trying to force the Budget thru..Kurds forcing it thru...what does that mean?
Think about this...If they wanted to force the Budget thru...they are 1/3 of Parliament...if it was there intention to force it thru they would have gone to Parliament...voted on budget ..forced it thru and then walked out
and said okay we have what we want from the budget
I dont think they ever intended to push that budget thru at any point
I do not think it was a sticking point....
If the Kurds really had the intention of pushing it thru they could have voted on it and stuck it thru at any point in time
they are waiting to go thru the political process...
Believe me when I tell you....Follow the money...this is about getting a power sharing agreement in place so these oil contracts can be solved and that the money flows properly to all these regions so they all get what is coming to them...and that they have one person at the head running this whole thing ...sign these conrtacts in coordination with the contracts beign signed locally and how they are going to divy the money up..and whose going to get what...there will be plenty of money for the govt to operate but these regions want to be able to have extra money ...to make themselves very relevant and give back to their people
What this is truly about and has been about how they are going to divide that power up and how they want to share the oil revenues.
That is what it has been about...what the walk out was about....all the other stuff will come once they get together and start moving things together...they are going to pass these things...
Doesnt mean it will happen tonight or tomorrow but very positive...because the things we want to see happen from our standpoint...
We want to see Budget passed......Erbil agreed to...oil revenue..oil sharing.. HCL law in place...and from that point forward and with the ministers announced everything then switches over to the CBI to do what they are going to do and all rises to his plate to determine what he can do what he intends to do and to make sure they can move forward...
He will not do this with an unstable govt....Needs to have a good govt working together moving forward or what he does with currency from the CBI
will not be be a stable environment to maintain his currencies....it will eat his reserves alive and he does not want to do that
He wants to maintain his reserves so he can weather thru anything that he can
They are not afraid of inflation right now...dont think that will come into play...think he has gotten inflation under control to this point because there is really not alot of value on their dollars
He has really to worry about hyperinflation to the point where he raises his dollar and starts to create a little more inflation..probably around 7.8%...dont think we are seeing double digits or about to see double digits at this point in time.
All eyes on the government to see what they are going to do...In their court right now
Next few days very important....We may see lots of things probably done and passed very quickly or we could also see some stalling..very important week for the govt. to see whats going on...It is my belief we will see things passed with the articles we went over tonight.....very very good for what we are looking for at this point in time.
Very positive what we want to see since Talabani is back....The Great Unitor...he seems to have some influence over Maliki to a certain degree
We like to see that...see him back and in good health and moving forward
Nice to see our govt taking an active role saying lets get this done....
Stay grounded....look at the things we know need to be done....know that there are a few more things to get passed
We are watching this country being birthed very quickly....not an easy process - it does not happen overnight

Parliament: the central bank faces the problem of smuggling hard currency to Iran

A commission of economy and investment representative for the Iraqi Central Bank to take a new financial measures in the coming days to curb the smuggling of hard currency. A member of the Committee of Economy and Investment parliamentary deputy for the coalition in Iraq Qusay Friday "is that a meeting took place recently with the Chairman of the Commission on Money Laundering and the Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Iraq and the Central Committee and the Economic Commission to discuss the issue of smuggling of foreign currency to Iran in order to solve this problem and find effective solutions to them."
He said Friday "the central bank announced measures for new financial to reduce the smuggling of currency, as well as the reduction of inflation in the coming days in order to solve this problem by setting the exchange rate, as well as the purchase price, the price of the Central Bank will be a new price in order to put the market in a balanced manner. "
He continued, without a doubt that Iran is going through economic crisis, a real result of the blockade imposed on it, and that the outlet is the only Iraq and this port is used to buy the dollar, "hard currency" from within the Iraqi market and evasion to the inside of her negatively affect the Iraqi economy, "he" put limitations to this matter. "
He combined to "The Economic Committee in the House of Representatives in constant contact with the Iraqi Central Bank in order to find effective solutions and real to the subject since the beginning."
