Average prices, meanwhile, have risen from around $90 per barrel in January to between $104 and $114 per barrel from March to August. By comparison, oil prices ranged from $71 per barrel to $86 per barrel in 2010.
The latest data show Iraq exported 67.9 million barrels of oil in August, earning revenues of $7.124 billion, at oil prices averaging $104.92. This figures differ slightly from those reported by AKnews earlier this month.

"We're looking for October for these talks to move forward," Hoshyar Zebari said in an Associated Press interview.
The Obama administration is considering 3,000 to 5,000 troops for an Iraqi training mission, according to Washington officials familiar with the discussions who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to release the information.
One Iraqi lawmaker close to Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue, said Baghdad may ask only for about 2,500 forces. "I think we will get an agreement on training," Zebari said, but he would not discuss numbers and stressed that training could take place both outside and inside Iraq.
"How many trainers will remain in Iraq is not that important," he said. "It's the commitment that is very important."
Regardless, Zebari said, there will be no new status of forces or security agreement with the Americans.
"The political conditions in Iraq have changed. That's why it's difficult," he said.

"Each and every one of them has to go through the same stages that we've been through," he said. "And we see the tensions, we see the difficulties of embracing a new order. ... Our system, our democracy is not tidy, it's not perfect, it's clumsy, it's uneven and so on. But really the structures are there to resolve problems."

Anbar, Sept. 28 (AKnews) - A memorial for journalists killed in the line of duty will be created by artist Ayad Hussein in Anbar province.
Hussein and a group of artists and journalists presented several drafts to the Anbar provincial council, which has to choose one.
"My favorite draft shows a body, covered in an Iraqi flag and threatened by a set of pens around him," said Hussein.
Hussein came up with the idea of a memorial because he felt that in Iraq, the sacrifice of journalists is not praised enough. "The reporters and the families of the martyrs of the press are not supported by the culture department in Anbar for example," complained Hussein.
Iraq is classified as one of the most dangerous areas for journalists in the world where about 360 journalists were killed in the country since 2003, according to numbers of media rights organizations. The latest victims was Hadi al-Mahdi, who was shot September 8, in an apartment in Abu Nawas Street in central Baghdad.
Mahdi was known for criticizing the government in a radio show and in articles for a number of websites.

Iraq will purchase three commercial cargo ships of 50,000 tons each in order to develop the country's merchant navy. The General Company for Maritime Transport said, the Ministry of Transport
decided to buy the ships in China. "The ships are under construction and they will meet the newest standards in terms of speed, design and cargo," said Karkhi Samir, general director of the company.
Iraq's merchant navy is almost non-existent. Currently, only one ship, the "Nasser" is at sea for Iraq. The once 14 ships Iraq purchased in the 1950ies were either destroyed or seized during the First and Second Gulf War or in the course of the UN sanctions on Iraq after 1991.
The Ministry of Transport decided to rebuild the merchant navy in order to keep up with the country's economic boom,
as well as with the country's plans to export more oil. Iraq plans to increase its oil production from 2.7 million barrels of oil per day (bopd) to 12 million bopd in 2016.
