Kentucky beats Louisville to advance to Monday’s title game
Raphielle Johnson Mar 31, 2012, 8:27 PM EDT One of the most-anticipated games in the history of the Kentucky/Louisville series provided the expected result in the end. Behind 18 points, 14 rebounds and five blocked shots from Anthony Davis, No. 1 seed Kentucky (37-2) advanced to Monday’s national title game with a 69-61 win over No. 4 seed Louisville. Peyton Siva led the Cardinals (30-10) with 11 points and Chane Behanan added ten points and eight rebounds, but it wasn’t enough as the Wildcats were able to pull away down the stretch. Kentucky led by as many as 13 points early in the second half and had the look of a team poised to blow things open. But Louisville refused to go away, and with Siva and Gorgui Dieng playing better the Cardinals were able to tie the game at 49 with 9:13 remaining. Dieng finished with seven points, 12 rebounds and four blocks, and as a team Louisville grabbed 16 offensive rebounds. However Kentucky would answer with an 11-2 run, taking a 60-51 lead on a pair of Darius Miller free throws with 4:29 to go. Kentucky made up for the rebounding issues by shooting 58% from the field, which is the highest a Louisville opponent has shot from the field this season. The biggest problem for Louisville however was their offensive work in the paint, as they missed 16 dunks and layups against Kentucky. Make enough of those and there’s a chance that it’s Louisville advancing. But some credit for that should go to the Kentucky defense, as they limited the Cardinals to 35% shooting. With Davis, Terrence Jones and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist to contend with, it comes as no surprise that simple shots are so difficult to make against Kentucky. Kentucky won the regular season meeting 69-62 in Lexington on New Year’s Eve, and they set a school record for wins in a single season with their win on Saturday night.

Kansas, Kentucky ready for a rematch with a title on the line Mike Miller Apr 1, 2012, 3:11 AM EDTIt wouldn’t be the 2012 Final Four without a rematch. Added bonus? It features the two winningest programs in NCAA history. Kentucky (2,089 victories) and Kansas (2,070) will play Monday night for the 2012 title. The Wildcats are big favorites, stemming from their superior talent and performance this season, which started with a 75-65 win back on Nov. 15. That game saw the Wildcats (37-2) pull away in the second half and behind superior defense, most notably 13 blocks. The Jayhawks (32-6) weren’t awful, but it was clear a few spurts was all Kentucky needed. “We didn’t play that bad the last time they beat us,” Kansas coach Bill Self said. “We went brain-dead there for about five minutes, and they capitalized. That’s when they went on their run.” Will Monday be the same? Self isn’t so sure. “I understand they’re really talented, well-coached, they play hard,” he said. “But I say the same about us.” Neither team features a deep bench. Both rely on their star big men, quick point guards and athletic, versatile wings to make plays in the open court. A rematch might not have been what was expected when the NCAA tournament began, but it’s turned out that way. And Kansas will give it a run. “I think we match up well,” Kansas senior Tyshawn Taylor said. “Any five we put out there can match up with any five they put out there, for sure. maybe they have something that is a little largerso we are going forwardThey talked about the currency ring they busted up that was printing hard currency....American dollars over thereThey talked that there seems to be a push on the street where the currency dealers are making a little bit of money because the currency is in demand and they are starting to let it go at a different exchange rate on the street - dollars seem to be drying up and dinar seems to be there...supply and demand kinda makes that adjustment..You've got the food prices going up and people are probably trying to get there hands on the dollarsWe discussed an article a few weeks ago they sucked about 200 million dollars out of their streets so people are starting to want that hard currency..ITS ONE OF THOSE PRESSURES WE LIKE TO SEEbeause they need to do something in order to make sure none of these things can take hold - Now you have people trying to counterfeit dollars because they are not there as long - interesting to see........again the CBI says they have control of the situation and they are not too worried about whats going on The Summit by all accounts was successfulWe talked about Kuwait ...we have a good feeling they ended alot of in relation to Chapter 7 - seems to be all worked out - there are very little problems - and NO problems emergedThe head of the United Nations stopped in Kuwait first making sure he got a good report from Kuwait.....then went on to Baghdad and got a good report and he delivered a report to the people in private at the SummitWe've all got a pretty good feeling that that should tie up everything with Chapter 7 - its just making sure that the paperwork to officially do it whatever they have to do at the UN gets donethat may take some time...you may not see that in the news but again countries just need asssurances that this is going on so if they want to start investing and coming towards Iraq.One of the things that Iraq wanted to do is get released from alot of their debt that was out there from Saddam Hussein I'm sure they got assurances they got rid of 80% of the Paris Debt They probably still have some other debts thats out there to some of these other countries they were looking to get forgiven - Qatar forgave alot of debt....they were like yeah if you guys just want to be like them please just forgive our debt...they will get some assurances..they will work that out and it is not a major concern for them because they have the oil production to negotiate these things down to something that is fairly reasonable - And again they really have to heal wounds..Saddam made alot of enemies - There is alot of distrust of Iraq just as there is in the regions that they need to pay their debts back and whats going on with that - want to make sure that they get paid Iraq is like it is not fair to hold us to the sins of the past - its all negotating to get that out of the wayIt helps them as a country....you want to have a little sovreign debt out there - those are all just minor things that this conference will solve to get them going We talked about Iraq regaining their regional status in the Arab League which is good - It's recognition that they are no longer under the rule of Saddam Hussein that they are no longer a threat to the communities around them and the people around them and that is generally what this was to show - that they are not a threat any longer and that they are doing things to get there nation building and moving forwardThe next thing that is on the agenda for them is we hope the National Conference this week coming up - next week...hoepfully they will get whatever they need to ironed out during that conference...hopefully the government can get done and they can get themselves on track with the government and moving forward because they are vastly coming upon on some dates that need them to be together for their new budgets - they need the money and the currencies to be put into the budget for next year with the new revalued currency..they talked about making the budget that for next year...now we are on a timeline...on a stretch We talked abut Myanmar and the struggles that that country had - How they are rich with resources...and low and behold on April 1 they are revaluing their currencyif you get a chance read that article please go take a look at it - That is what a revalue looks like...not people dancing in the streets, not people running around screaming and yelling...its not a huge event..it is a very small event that happensThe rest of the world gets informed that their currency now has more value - That their Central Bank is floating their currency and that they are going to have a valuable currency for the people in the country....They will issue whatever denominations they need to issueThey will issue the currency they need to issue - dont know about the specifics what is going on thereThey will do whatever they need to do to get everything in the hands of the peopleThey are revaluing....They increased the value of the currencyThey doubled the value of their currency is what it almost turned out to be - after the first of April, we will find out if it is worth more than thatmaybe double..possibly as much as a triple value in their currency to the US dollar - They are very excited about that and what it is going to bring into their countryWe know that these things happen and this is an example of what goes on in the world today..........Deb shares her email correspondence with Tariq this morningStill in lockdown..blackout on cell phones....internet is up and down and is killing him... Blast this morning was nearby him but he is okayAs promised I asked Tariq for the the callers from Tuesday night who asked about something they had heard - that the government was going door to door passing out pamphlets on Tuesday telling the people they could pick up their smart cards loaded with 1500 dinars on Thursday... Tonight we read a few articles about CBI - most all being recycled rehashing the same things because of the News Blackout..not alot of news coming out as we discussed last week there would not be....we talked about 2 articles from the CBI....
Couple of articles about deleting the zeros - same old articles - that the Kurdish language is going to be on there...that they are getting ready to do that..the costs are out there...In one of the articles they have already contracted with somebody.... same ole articles
We dont know where we are at in the process..we think we are closer to the end than the beginning of the process
AS WE HAVE SAID...WE BELIEVE THE CBI IS READY TO GO
Tariq from Iraq joined us for a short period of time We heard from Tariq they shut down cell phone service in the last 4 hrs prior to The IQD Team Call and he told us his internet service is starting to be shut down as well.....they are trying to keep people very quiet..They did have a small attack so they have now moved the Arab Sumit away from the original hotel location
Tariq talked about some of the outrageous expenses at the conference....diamond studded hot dogs...(that was for you Yukon)
All Kidding aside Tariq talked about the extravagant food (dates served 24 karat gold) and how the average Iraqi citizen sits out there and looks at all of this and you can hear it in Tariq's voice what he thinks of all of this....
Tariq's Discussion with The IQD Team until his internet or electricity went out.....some of Tariqs words were hard to understand soplease keep that in mind while reading the highlights & listen to the recording
Tariq joined us to give us the latest news due to a suicide bomber attack they are cutting the main network...NO CELL PHONES AS OF TODAY ...no cells phones anymore-turned off today 4 hrs before The IQD Team Call started....they are under a blackout he assumes until the end of the Summit....He heard there was a suicide bomber today who killed two..So Tariq assumes that is why it has been cut off....
Internet could be cut off at any time...he wanted to join us before he might possibly have no connection with us to give us the updates.
The latest he has heard from his friends, the journalists, who are supposed to be inside the place where the Summit is taking place1st of all, the Summit will take place in the Palace which is the US military headquarters before...very close to the international airport Baghdad and I believe they might now be suspecting some security breeches so they have moved it instead of the international zone which is about 7 miles away to the Palace which is very close to the airport...its inside the airport actually
#2 Said this is really funny...NOT.....They have brought 2500 staff from the excess hotel to be the ones in charge of all of the Arab Summit
They have provided 600 chefs, 820 waiters, 78 butlers, etc from 7 hotels and 6 palaces to help with the Arab Summit
He is hearing also that the same thing I was talking about the other night on the call with Straight Talking Mike that the Kurds and how they started to talk about new things like the Iraqi government owed them billions of dollars and the Arabs are also complaining because of the 2 people who will be the front the president and the Minister of Foreign Affairs are Kurds and are not Arabs they are not really happy with it....
Funniest and most ridiculous thing at the same time that the menu will include dates covered with 24 karat gold....
Mike and Tariq talk about that must be for the Saudis....
Tariq says they have the money and They know how much they have.....they wouldn't if they didnt have so much
Mike says getting ready for the summit...and cracking down on security...moved everything to a different location
Tariq said he has received many emails to people asking questions and he does not have time to respond to all of them..he does respond to some with his opinion and thoughts which apparently has been taken out of context and not always true...Tariq says what you guys hear here from The IQD Team versus other conference calls
whatever I say here in my opinion is true and my opinion...some people are out there are stating and quoting me that I said this and
do not represent me and my opinion...he is receiving emails about things people have heard on other conference calls that he said certain things which are taken out of context and not true....
Mike from The IQD Team says Tariq is saying that he comes here to join The IQD Team on our conference call....he doesn't have time to read everyones emails and sometimes he responds with his opinion
And if you hear something out there that Tariq has said come to the IQD Team Call for clarifiction and It is too difficult for him to respond to everybody

Debbie asks Tariq about the news article that stated the prices have doubled during this Summit...
Tariq said actually about 6 times more...one kilgram of tomatoes used to be 500 dinars and now it is 3000 dinars
Everybody is raising the prices...the groceries can not bring fresh vegetables from the market now they are taking advantage of the situation and pricing - very high especially for basic necessities
Straight Talking Mike talks with Tariq about the raising prices and that they cant get goods to the areas due to the lockdown
and taking advantage of the people....
Tariq talks about many Iraqi are taxi drivers, masons, etc and how they are really affected - they get daily pay and are really affected when they cant work for 5 days and now the prices soaring its going to very difficult for them
Tim asks him What is the average salary for Iraqis?
It depends - if you work for the government, there is a pay rate table for those...The average graduate student who just got hired by the government, he gets about 300 month which is not very much and very difficult especially if he has to rent his own apartment....if he is living with his own family then he would be fine or better
The day workers earn 8-15 dollars day depending on what they are doing
Tim asks Tariq about the land lines - do they have any land lines?
They used to have....now I think only 10% of the grid works
Even if you have one, the other people don't so you can't use them
The only people using them are the Companies and Unions and Govt offices have...but it is very rare for us

Next on to the Arab Summit....Maliki is inviting all of the Arabs to invest ..come in and bring your money and lets get us built and lets move forward
they talked about a couple of things that they really wanted to do
They talked about the One currency they wanted to try to do... probably won't fly
But they put it out there that it is something they want to put on the agenda.....probably wont make it to the agenda
Its nice for the poorest country in all of this to say hey lets have one currency where everybody can be happy
and we can really gain alot of advantage in that situation
they are not ready for that yet...they need to make sure they have an economy...make sure they have a tradeable currency,
and eventually they can do something like the Euro down the road but it doesn't happen over night - takes years for that to happen
because you have different economies
We talked about Iraq trying to use the Arab Summit to get out of Chapter 7 and kinda bring that and have one voice sorta of an end around to get them to move out and to apply some pressure to the United Nations..really won't happen....its nice to have some friends who will say yes
We will do business with you if you are out of Chapter 7
...But it truly is in the UN's hands to do that and get them out done as quickly as possible
We talked about Allawi and Barzani not being there - they said have a great conference - the political differneces are too important
basically said we cant see any political advantage to being there...we dont want to upset the cart..we will stay away...thats great
Kurds said we are going to stop producing oil if you dont give us some money...some hush money was sent - $560 million was sent to them..they were short a little bit... 1.5 billion..Its was kinda here you go - here is your first payment...We are going to have to look at the accounts... we are giving you your money...everybody be quiet and your good and they were happy with that for a little bit ..we will see how that goes they will slowly feed them the money that they need in order to do what they need to do...Needs to go the contracts and everything that is paid - Its essential money to keep them up and running and keep the oil companies going with all the wealth that they are looking at to do over there.
Barzani had a talk at home with his people, how he wants to run a transparent open goverment, and he wants to bring unity to Pershmega and Kurdistan - it was really more of a jab at Maliki to say Look I am doing this here...why cant you do this for the rest of Iraq?
And to sum it up alot of bickering going on because as any policial party can take advantage of using the newspapers to put themselves out front and get an advantage because the other party really can't respond too quickly - they did just that...you will see that alot over the next few days as this thing goes down
Now as Tariq told us with the cell phones being done, internet possibly going down and news getting tighter - theres going to be a lot of stuff put out there you are just not going to believe what you will read in the news..you will probably hear the worst of the worst becacuse that's the time the worst of the worst can get there voices out there
no other news to cover those things up so the loudest voice...squeekiest wheel always gets the grease...so they are trying to be the squeekiest wheel to bring attention to what they are doing
Barzani is going to make a trip the US to talk - to see what he can do to get the influence of the US to help the situation along..to put the

Tonight Tariq joined us with his perspective - was very cool to have him on almost the entire call...and answered some questions during the Q & A...even joined us again after his electricity came back on and said Good Night...We read an article about the Deleting of the Zeroes - Great article for you to go thru and take a look at.
It gives you the history and the perspective of what they are trying to do....Again they are NOT going to put out in the papers exactly what they are doing...they are going to put out there what their plans are to move forward...they are NOT going to give you dates, times or rate....they are not going to tell you exactly how it is going to be done because that would be very counterproductive to the plan and people want to come in and destroy the plan and it very much can be for the economy
Its a very delicate thing for them to do to get this exchanged and to get all the new funds out there and get it in the peoples hands
and theres lots of things that can go wrong so they are putting out a position...there showing part of their cards but not showing all of their cards
We discussed a unique article from Kuwait that came out on saying they are going to a MANAGED FLOAT
for their economy - they want to control the speculation in their currency and they want to be able to maintain their exchange rate
according to a basket of currencies rather than having it being speculated on in the market
We discussed another article where they are going to have 10 billion dollar surplus this year because of oil revenues
which could wildly start to speculation on their currency
what we are seeing is that the countries in the Middle East are going to a managed float to try to keep a stable currency so they dont have these major fluctuations according to when they have surpluses or when oil is good
Remember...oil is great now..they are making lots of money
the money would go up...their value or exchange rate would go up if they are speculated on
If there making less money their exchange rates would come down
its not good for their people who are controlling the inflation
and the Central Banks that are trying to maintain this
It's much easier for them to go ahead and maintain their currency with a Managed Float
Where did they hear the Managed Float from?...probably Shabibi - he's been over there preaching it and something he wanted to do... what he wants to come out with and I think they are seeing some value to having that Managed Float as part of their tools to control inflation and speculation in their country....VERY GOOD...Interesting they are going to do this now

We see that Iraq is been conditionally accepted to the WTO based on some things they have to do.
Tariq tells us the labor laws really needs to be changed over there to really help them move into this organization because they are very stringent..they want to employ - most of the people who are unemployed regardless of whether they have the skills or not
and we need to bring in skilled laborers to teach these people so they can take these jobs over and do it and they are running into some problems there as well as taxes and tariffs which are most important
They want to make sure they are controlling the goods and the flow of goods into the country so that you are not bombarding the country with cheap goods and hurting the economy and hurting the people who are buying those goods
You can have inferior goods that are used for building and all that type of stuff and you want to make sure before everything really gets underway to a major degree that you can control some of that so that you dont have major things built and then people ending up getting killed from things that are built.....
The WTO opens up many windows for them and they can move forward into the world organization being part of the world and have many trading partners
So if they can pull of the Arab Summit
along with the WTO it bodes well for the country and the future
Absolutely a wonderful thing....one of the things we wanted to see...they now have a plan to do this
Tariffs etc ....Great for the Future of Iraq and the future of the dinar.
The WTO will help support that economy and make sure they dont get flooded with goods and gives them good world trading partners that allow them opportunites in the market they may not have had
and vice versa...
We read an article calling for the parties to stop the bickeringand running to the newspapers with every little thing that goes on
they need to settle these differences amongst themselves
we heard from Tariq, and as we have discussed many times, the differences between the regions are very deep..the strife that has happened amongst the people in Iraq ...there are lots of scars..lots of distrust among certain regions...alot of harsh words come out
That all needs to be mulled over - because they just dont trust each other and they have to build this trust....apparently Maliki hasnt been showing people he is trustworthy ernough to share the power and doign what he needs to do in order to the agreements that were agreed upon
Maliki needs to give up some of that power and let these other regions share in some of this power so they have safety and security...but Really what it really comes down to is the signing of the contracts and how the money is going to be divided ....
eventually that is how it will all be solved...
Lastly we discussed how they are preparing for the Arab Summit...
Tariq discussed the security is there and very tight ...people had 1 hr to get out their apartments...they either had to stay inside or had 1 hr to get to where they wanted to go.....very similar to a prison......cant drive cars, can not be on the roads, can't move around, making sure noone is out there doing anything bad...they also closed borders with Iran to make sure there are no problems coming in from that neck of the woods...
hopefully we will read in the next few days that this Arab Summit will be absolutely wonderful and they have done what they needed to do
and make some new trading partners ...and they've discussed some of the issues that need to be discussed with the regions...
with Iran and Syria having issues and being under sanctions.....everybody wants to really try to confer and be with the world especially Iraq because they had have their own sanctions to get rid of to get out of Chapter 7
We will have to see what happens...news has been a little light because of whats been going on over there

the following is just the recap of the articles discussed on the call)
We talked about the Central Bank talking about the tariffs
talked about wanting the tariffs to be ready for June which we have discussed again and agian on our calls
and the Central Bank said Woa we dont want to create a lot of inflation..be careful...tariffs create inflation
The government says no no we want to collect the money - its money to run the govt like every government wants
we want to be able to collect those taxes to get us rolling forward
and the Deputy Governor is warning say hey be careful
I want to remind you we have no value to our currency right now
and when we do we have to understand you guys want to yank a 30% tax onto this here
We have to figure out that and add that into our equation
when we are getting ready to RV & add purchasing power to our dinar because we cant give too much value that creates inflation
and if we give it too little value it creates inflation so theres that fine line in the middle where they have to get it right with what the governments doing and what were doing here...its tough....You have different philosphys on how that is done and its all economic theory and you find out if you are right after the fact...not before the fact...so you have to get all of your ducks in a row and you have to move forward
ANOTHER MARKER OUT THERE THAT SAYS BY JUNE WE HAVE TO HAVE SOME KIND OF VALUE TO THIS DINAR OR THEY WILL HAVE
INCREASED INFLATION .....VERY VERY GOOD
We saw a lot of the articles that came out were re-writes of articles that have been around for a couple of weeks now
sometimes even a month or so...
Great sentence from this article "remove three zeros from the Iraqi dinar in order to reach to levels comparable with the exchange rates of foreign currencies order back to the glory of the Iraqi dinar and weighs a healthy beautiful green turquoise."
This was repeat of this article on HOW THEY WANT TO BRING THE DINAR BACK TO THE GLORY THAT IT WAS
where it had purchasing power - where people were able to buy and do things and what you have to remember in Iraq is that not everybody was privy to all that purchasing power that they had when they had it in Iraq..they didnt have many goods coming thru
so they had a high value on their dollar 3.22 but there was not alot they could buy because there was not alot of stuff coming in...you could buy food but you couldn't buy goods - you couldn't build a house, you couldnt do things with an economy..the regular people didnt have a chance to really enjoy any of that...It's not like they all were like the people in Kuwait
who understood what that money is and know how to spend it
it's been in their economy...they understood what it was all about
they didnt get to taste any of that....this is all very new to them and they are very excited because they can see what goes on to the neighbors in the south in Kuwait and they see what goes on in Saudi Arabia and Qatar that these people share in this and theres alot of wealth for them to share in
So they are anxious to have that value to purchase and when they get that purchasing power its going to be the fuel that drives his economy
When you talk about rates....thats what Shabibi has to figure out...he has to decide what that is going to be...to put enough juice in his economy and not overheat his economy and to give it the right steps so he doesnt create inflation or that he doesnt create inflation by giving it too little value but give it enough fuel so it maintains so as the economy grows more money inflation doesn't kill them
you out pace inflation so if inflation is 2-3% per year
You want your economy to grow by leaps and bounds 8 - 9%
Thats why we are fighting it here in america now
our economy is not growing fast as fast as things are inflating
we have less purchasing power today..you see that when you go buy gas...5-6.00 gallon but you haven't recd more money lately
to help you with that increase...thats inflation - dont want to have that over there...you want to be keep adding value to that
money so it keeps pace with inflation - that helps with the growth in the oil industry they have there so he's go a little easier job of it because he knows that he is growing - he's not in a downturn
being a mature economy like we have here its a little harder
because we have had the ups and downs..theres nothing to push that motor....hiring and getting people going is alot more difficult here
As we have said CBI is ready...
Flash Forward to whats going on in Bagdhad
We discussed both Ford & General Motors wanting to open up and put 200 million investment each into Iraq
want people to buy more cars....they plan to invest in Iraq because it has become one of the most GROWING COUNTRIES
and to meet the increasing demand there is there for cars....car sales up 68% last year
They see it as a growing place - they want to open up this market and put dealerships there...that does nothing but good stuff for the banking system..they will buy cars...and put loans on the cars to buy them just like they do here..the dealerships will work the same way ...the cars and pricing for that over there
they will sell lots of cars that run on gasoline over there
so what we dont buy from electric they will buy over in these places
you can see that Ford and these type of companies dont go to places where they are going to lose money...they look for growth in the world..they open up in the world markets that are growing
and this is one of the only places that is going to be growing in the next few years...people are GOING TO RUN HERE because it is the only one of the places that you can carve out other than some
of these other smaller countries in Asia that you have that people will be running to
You are going to have basically 2 places in the world that will see grow over the next 3-5 yrs
THERE GOING TO BE THE FUEL TO THE WORLDS ECONOMY....Iraq is one of those....they are running to put their money there..
This speaks volumes that these companies are going there and it speaks volumes FOR YOU AND THE DINAR YOU HOLD
IN YOUR HANDS...because they are going to have to increase the value of the dinar for people to afford to buy things like these
They would not go there if they thought people could not purchase their products....the dinar will buy them so much more
when this all said and done......VERY GOOD STUFF....
We talked about the Security and conjestion and the preparations for the upcoming Summit
They have imposed tight security measures at all checkpoints, on main roads, closed bridges, imposed bans on tour
motorcycles and aerodynamic vehicles starting this Saturday for one week and curfews will be in place.
If you think that an RV has to be in place before the Summit or a government....Remember the most important thing is IF there is One Head of State Killed it will seal their fate more than anything else...The city is going to be locked down for the next 8 days
They are making sure they are doing what they need to do to keep everyone safe for this event
The city is in lockdown to make sure everyone is safe
Limiting the amount of people in the streets...from this point forward the city is pretty much in lockdown and security will get even tighter...news will probably be very little out of Iraq from the Summit...Hopefully they can work their magic....Let everyone know whats going on and how great it is to invest in their country
The summit is extremely huge for them
We talked about what is going on in the streets
you've got Sadr out there bringing people to kinda march
expressing themselves in a peaceful manner that they are NOT happy with whats going on with the politicians
You put that together with what we heard about Article 140 from the gentlemen from the Iraqiya party
Sadr is from that same party........You've got alot of pressure from the people
they are starting to use the people to put the pressure on Maliki
to say Hey we've got this great big thing coming up
we are putting the pressure on you to get this thing done....
Will he bend? I dont know...We will have to see
He would be smart to get things signed and to move forward and to get out of the way because the pressure is going to build very heavily and he could end up with a vote of no-confidence coming to him in a short period of time
We will have to see how that plays out
How does that affect us?....everything is positive
if he gets out of the way its positive
if he stays there he needs to wise up and do things....so there is really not a negative situation to him staying or going
other than the longer that he stays the longer this takes........is sorta the way it is going
We would like to see the government seated and all of these things getting ready to go..
and Shabibi would really like to see Article 140 because the OIL IS THE FUEL TO HIS ECONOMY
If they dont know how to sign, whose to sign, who is taking the money, how they are taking the money into the economy
Then everything he has based his calculations on can go up in smoke because you have oil companies who will start to sue....congestion and how that is going to go...people fighting on who gets what money inside the country..and you have chaos...
All the value you are trying to add and everything you are trying to do gets disgruntled and mumbled and you have regions fighting
against regions what the value of that is and how to do it
the reason they wanted to do the 140 is to make it very easy to calculate for the economy...Everything goes thru one place
You can use those numbers - they can see the barrells - when you start dividing off into 3-4 separate places you lose that bookkeeping
system - that one place can keep and sign all of the contracts and know what the dollar of that is..it gives them a very good idea - you can over to the Oil Ministry and say how are we doing today - how many barrells are we doing a day...
when you have 3 or 4 regions are turning up production and some are not producing as much then it gives you an inconsistent and you dont want that to happen and for them They are a member in Opec and they really need to get this down....because this would make them a very strong member in OPEC because they would really have a lot of power knowing how much is going out each and every day So there is alot ...Ascension to the WTO...IMF....all really relies on the tariffs and Oil is the heartblood of their economy so you can why the Iraiqya group pushes so hard to get these people to sign and get this moving because it benefits them but it also benefits the economy
as I used to say when I was in the business and I negotiated salaries for people you have your opportunity to negotiate when you came thru the door...5 yrs ago when the deal was struck..and you negotiated it and you said okay
you were fine with it....now you've got involved and start to understand how much money is here and whats going on and now you say well I didnt carve a big enough piece for me...well you know you blew it then...because if you didnt have all of that..you didnt negotiate good enough....you are stuck with the deal you struck until you renegotiate and most of those people that negotatied salaries with me and came in after the fact you negotiated from the power that you had...you got what you got from what you have
not what you brought to the table..what you are bringing to the table hasnt changed.....I can give you a smaller amount -----I can give you some concessions but I cant give you the same as someone else who has brought to the table more than you
Like 60% of the oil revenues are coming to the table from one party
they have more bargaining power there..so what happens in that case when I was negotiating salaries I usually said good bye to those people and hired someone else who had better qualifications
so thats the risk you run when you negotiate the deal up front
and you end up sitting there and having sour grapes after the fact
because you already have these sour grapes and now there is more on the table that I thought there was and you say well..too late..sorry you couldnt see that vision 5 yrs ago when you negotiated this deal
because you had your chance...there were people in the room...there were people dividing this up ..and saying okay
there were people from the oil industry that divided this up and said this is the most successful way to run this country
because this is going to increase the amount of revenues coming into your country..you should have listened to them when you did that...and they didn't and now this is what you have because you've got people changing their minds because they see the value that is there..
WHAT DOES THAT MEAN TO US....THERE IS ALOT OF VALUE TO HANG ONTO AS WE GO THRU THIS....you should have courage and faith in what you have because other countries and companies are rushing here to be a part of this
Whatever that is....whatever date it is....whatever value that is...it is going to be more valuable in the future than it is right now......
We read daily about everyone wanting to be a part of this and noone is backing away even with all the political things going on
Noone is saying I cant go to this country because the government is not getting their act together
All the major companies are wanting a piece of Iraq....When you look at the Business News its amazing the contracts we see being signed on a daily basis....housing projects, automobile dealers, etc.... oil exports rising..the ports they are doing....China wants to come in and drill..and the list goes on and on....everybody wants a piece of the pie from across the world because they know what is going on in Iraq....very simply THEY ARE FLOCKING TO THE NEW IRAQ!!!
