Lots of CBI articles coming out about Symposiums that are being held...Economist starting to talk about what is going on in Iraq
Be careful when you read these articles ...look at where they are coming from...Are they quoting from the the symposiums who is quoting the CBI on what they have done or is it coming directly from the CBI?
The articles that mean the most and carry the most weight are the ones that come directly from CBI...and we start to hear Saleh or Shabibis talk about those type of things
You will hear alot of that...
Dont be too concerned when you hear an economist starting to break up these numbers..some have good ideas...some have bad ideas...its just like the discussions going on in our own dinar community and peoples different opinons...they are opinion pieces...so be careful when you start to read an article and understand..look for 2-3 of the same articles because they are a little different from each other... most of these are translated in web translators and there is alot that gets missed..one translation can give you a different word that just kinda makes the whole thing go around..Be careful when you are reading these articles as to who wrote them..etc
(Listen to the beginning of the call at Mikes explanation of the Great things brought out in the many CBI articles...managed floats..the Central Banks....how the RV will work...great information)
We read about the Banks and they are talking about the technology that they are going to need....
We have read countless articles and discussed this...
WE KNOW THE TECHNOLOGY IS ALREADY THERE...
We have been talking about them using their cell phones to make purchases...talking about ATM's being available in places of businees and all of that....
WE KNOW IT IS ALREADY WIRED AND READY TO GO FORWARD
They are a little worried that their state banks which are going to become private banks are going be able to be in this technology
Shabibi has been taking care of his banks and these banks will be ready for any of the technology that comes in to move forward from that standpoint
Good to see - why would you want all of these modern conveniences for a worthless currency...at some point in time they have to add value..the banking system knows that....and as we have read the CBI has been working on this for over 2 years or more getting them compliant and getting them ready and the technology is there and THEY ARE READY TO GO
On the Parliament side
Iraq has sent Foreign Ministers over to Kuwait to put on the finishing touches for the negotiations that are going on to get them out of chapter 7
We discussed there is alot going on to get them out of Chapter 7
It is my opinion it is NOT IF they are getting out of Chapter 7...
ITS A MATTER OF WHEN
These negotiations are going on and it is my best opinion it is going to happen at the Arab Summit...either right before that or the first thing they announce coming out of the gate from that standpoint
so we are very excited that is another thing that is going to be crossed off the list
We talked about the Erbil agreement... how they sign for contracts
WE ARE EXCITED to see an article that Bagdad has AGREED TO THE EXXON MOBILE DEAL....which was a big point we thought was going to be one of those things that 2 weeks ago...we were reading articles telling us that Exxon couldn't do this...that it was a violation of the constitution..blah blah blah...
All of sudden Baghdad comes out and says this is good..lets go ahead and lets move forward from it
THAT IS A SIGN THEY ARE GETTING READY TO MOVE FORWARD WITH THE OIL & GAS LAW
which is the portion that they really need ..is.the signing of the contracts...who gets to sign them...is it Bagdhad? ...is it the combination of Baghdad and the provinces?
How do they split the money...
People just remember its more about how they are going to split the money than who actually gets to sign off on it
Its about power and centralizing power or decentralizing some of that power and how much money is going to come back to that
We talked again about surplus revenues being given to the people
THEY ARE GOING TO GET 25% OF THE SURPLUS REVENUES FROM THE SALE OF THE OIL
from that standpoint its quite a large amount amount trying to figure out how to get it out there
thev've got offices read to go and ready to implement this
Probably going to be electronic... probably get some kind of ration card or national card that they will be able to put this stuff on..it would go on just like a credit card they will be able to do that
thats the way they are looking to do this
Read a nice article from the other day about Maliki talking about full sovreignty and how important this Arab summit is at the end of the month
We gave you some sort of idea that Saudi Arabi and Kuwait would really like to make friends and buddy buddy up with them
because they need some help in that region to keep themselves in power and having a strong Iraq....a good Iraq....that has a stable Iraq would really help them out because the fires are burning all around them...they don't want their people to be disturbed and they would rather just carry on they way they are....Iraq would provide them from that standpoint plus they have alot to give Iraq because they have been in the oil business and they can do what they need to do
We talked about they are going to bring this up next week when they get into Congress..THE OIL & GAS LAW
AGAIN PARLIAMENT WILL BE ABLE TO VOTE ON THIS VERY QUICKLY......DOMINOES ARE STARTING TO FALL
At last but not least....Very interesting article we discussed is one of the largest Arab firms backing the Iraq stocking markets
and coming in and trying to legitimize the Iraq Stock Market
We've seen tremendous growth in that stock market
and to have these guys come in really when there is no value...really doesn't make a lot of sense
so the anticipated growth thats here is something all of the Arab countries are looking at..saying okay we need to get on board with this.....at some point in time that growth equals value in the currency and that is what we are all here for and expecting that
to come as these things go out
We talked about equity swaps...and why would you guarantee something that is going to be worthless?
Why would you have this much interest in a country that doesn't have it together....
So guys when you have doubts about your investment - these are LARGELY GREAT THINGS THAT ARE GOING ON THAT SHOULD MAKE
YOU FEEL GREAT ABOUT YOUR INVESTMENT
Truly what we want to look for is the ministers that is really kinda the final piece we are looking for...trying to see how they are going to solve that - its been quiet for the last couple of days
kinda still bantering back and force between Hashemi..theres been some lightening from that arena....but we are moving forward..lots happening.
Really looking at Kuwait helping them get out of Chapt 7
which may one of the next major things we see happen before this conference in very short order
It will be a ceremonial thing that will happen at that Arab Summit
probably lift that earlier before then and then have some kind of ceremony there letting the rest of the Arab countries know
they are no longer in Chapter 7
